Carpentry Expertise Our timber frame buildings are prepared by teams of craftsmen who mark out and cut all the joints by hand in the workshop.
Every joint in the entire frame will have been assembled at least once before the frame is transported to site and erected. We employ traditional joinery techniques in preparing the oak pegged joints as well as the custom of carving carpenter's marks in each member.
It is our policy to ensure the team of carpenters that cut the frame raises it on site.
Timber stacks are delivered to the workshop
Once each element of the frame is marked-up following our approved construction drawings, the joints are cut
The joints are fitted together and the frame elements assembled
Peg holes are marked and drilled, and carpentry marks carved into the timbers
Having completed the framing sequences, delivery is arranged |
